**Important: Your Breast Screening Appointment**

NHS England is running the ‘Help Us, Help You’ campaign to encourage women to attend their breast screening appointments when invited. This simple step could help save lives.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in England and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. However, early detection through screening can save around 1,300 lives each year. When breast cancer is found early, the chances of successful treatment are much higher. In fact, 98% of women survive for at least 5 years if diagnosed at the earliest stage.

If you’re aged between 50 and 71, you will be invited for breast screening every 3 years. Your first invite will come between the ages of 50 and 53.

This campaign focuses on making sure all women, especially those from lower-income and ethnic minority backgrounds, attend their screening. Research shows that women from ethnic minority groups, particularly South Asian women, are less likely to attend. We want to change that and ensure everyone has the chance to get screened.

The campaign will run from 17 February to 30 March 2025, with outreach through TV, online videos, radio, social media, and more. We are also providing information in accessible formats, including easy-read leaflets and British Sign Language (BSL) content, to ensure that everyone can get the support they need.
